What's In My Bag

I know I haven't blogged ... since March. As pathetic an excuse as it may be I was busy with my exams, then I went on holiday and here I am! At first I was really confident about my exams but now I'm really unsure and genuinely dreading getting my results on the 4th of August.

Decided to do one of these what's in my bag posts because I always see them, and I actually find it quite interesting to see what people carry in their bags! I wouldn't say that i carry an insane amount of stuff around with me, because frankly my shoulders get really sore after about 2 minutes. For me it's only the necessities really!

Tapestry Satchel - River Island
I have fallen in love with this bag at first sight- the fabric is fab, it's roomy and the long strap just makes it perfect!

Clockwise:
Make-up Bag- Primark
I'm quite a sucker for anything floral... so i had to have this. It's very Cath Kindson-esque and was around £1.50- BARGAIN. It's easy-peasy to clean it so it suits its' role as a make-up bag perfectly! I don't carry the same make-up with me everyday, it's quite logical that I'd only be taking the things that I'm wearing at the time...
Inside:
Inglot Lipgloss in 34
♥Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Coral Queen
♥L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara
♥L'Oreal Superliner
♥Rimmel Eye Brow Pencil in Dark Brown
♥MAC Studio Fix Concealer
♥Couple of Kirby Grips and hair bobble
♥Nina by Nina Ricci perfume - need to stock up on this!
♥Comb

Phone - Blackberry Bold
I have upgraded to this from an iPhone despite being told not to by an amount of people. To be honest I prefer it to the iPhone. It's more compact and it's 500x easier to type.

Sennheiser Earphones
Always carry these with me and I don't imagine using any other type of earphones. The quality of sound is by far better than with any other earphones I used (and trust I've used plenty!).

Paul's Boutique Purse
I have sworn to never get anything by Paul's Boutique - I find most of the things extremely tacky and overpriced. Since my last purse broke, I knew a replacement had to be found ASAP... I spotted this and felt inclined to buy it because of the floral design-told ya I was a sucker for florals!Set me back by about £30 but I think it was worth it!

Glasses
You probably wouldn't guess but I have quite poor eyesight and need to wear glasses, boo! These are my fancy D&G ones. Absolutely love them!

Sunglasses
Definitely not as fancy as my glasses, but these were another Primark bargain- got them for a mere £1! They are quite flattering and I've seen very similar ones at other shops! They have them in a couple of different colours and patterns (eg. pink, black, mint, red floral etc.)

What do you carry in your bag?

P.S If you haven't yet noticed I changed my lay-out about a bit because I thought it got a bit messy. xx

Red Hair, Florals and Peter Pan Collar

I have decided to plunge into waters of change, by that I mean changing the colour of my hair. I said goodbye to my light locks and went dark! I genuinely wasn't planning on having it this colour (actually the photos don't show the colour well, it's a pinky red). I'm getting it re-dyed tomorrow because I had no intention in having it so bright, I was thinking more like a muted brown...

FACE:
Gosh Touch Up Concealer
Bourjois 10Hour Sleep Foundation
Natural Collection Powder
Mac Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul
Mac Blush in Style
Rimmel Natural Bronzer in 025 Sun Glow
EYES:
Gosh Extreme Art Eyeliner
Maybelline Colossal, 100% Black
Barry M Super Soft Eye Crayon in no.2, Brown (eyebrows)
LIPS:
Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Heartbreaker

On the side not the Maybelline Colossal 100% Black Mascara is absolutely brilliant, it volumized my lashes and lengthens them. So happy with this one! I know I have blogged very little, if at all, in the past 2 months but I have been extremely busy in the run-up to my exams which begin at the end of April. I'm literally so stressed out and there's so much pressure to do well. I hardly have any time for myself and shop therefore a lack of post, yes I know, typical excuses of a blogger.

MAC Blushers

A while ago I went to Edinburgh along with a friend for some shopping. In fact, I was quite disappointed because most of the shops were about the same size as we have back in Aberdeen. Of course the highlight of my trip was going into Harvey Nichols and having a look at the MAC counter. I was also really tempted by Smashbox at Debenhams, but I didn't see anything that caught my eye so I didn't buy anything( I was also discouraged by the prices - they seemed slightly ridiculous to me!).

I only bought 3 things at MAC, 2 were blushes and the other one was a foundation (Face&Body, as I heard many good things about it, I'm just scared that it might break me out horribly). I was actually planning to buy the "Breath of Plum" blush but after the MUA put it on me it seemed FAR TOO DARK on my pale skin (it might've been the lighting). I also wanted a red l/s but I looked unbelievably stupid so no red lippy for me! So in the end I ended up with these two beauties.

MAC PINCH O' PEACH BLUSH ( sheertone)

MAC says: A wash of warm peachy hue

In my opinion this is more pink than peachy, it looks light peachy pink colour in the pan and gives me a lovely flush on my cheeks however, it looks as if im actually blushing and I don't know why but I never liked blushing. I do like it because it actually suits my skintone and I'm happy that it was suggested by the MUA.

MAC MELBA BLUSH (matte)

MAC says: Soft coral-peach.

I wouldn't say this is so much of a coral, because I don't see the pink undertone. It belongs in the light category and is obviously peachy. I love this because it looks so natural on my NW15 complexion and there's no shimmer and that's exactly what I was looking for. On the website, they make out as if its a really dark colour (second row down) whereas in real life its relatively light to what I expected it to be. I think this would be perfect for people upto warm olive skintone. I think that the Cremeblush alternative for this would be Lilicent - It's sooo lovely but they didn't have any in stock and I was sooo gutted!

Next time I'll be looking into Cremeblushes ♥ Any recommendations?

Ombre Hair

I feel like I'm so late to jump on the bandwagon of Ombre Hair! In reality, I first ombre'd my hair in November, i think. Since I haven't posted an awful lot since then I didn't get a chance to tell you.

This is after I have literally re-ombre'd it about 2 days ago- Excuse the bare face, awful "posing" and the crapola quality. It was the best way of showing y'all! I think you can see that my hair gradually gets lighter ...

Ombre is easy-peasy to do, all you need is a little hair lightener (or darker dye than your hair colour if you like) and just slap it on the ends, wait depending of what colour intensity you want to achieve and voila! I use the L'Oreal Perfect Blonde Highlighting Kit, I don't think it's particularly expensive and you can get it at most drugstores.

It's obvious that your ends will become damaged and split ends are one the not-so-nice effects, this is why i was forced to trim my hair a little and re-ombre. I also need to remember to condition my hair thoroughly and pay special attention to my ends!

I don't think I'm going to channel this ombre look forever, next time I plan on going a bit darker (which might be a bit tricky considering that the last time I went dark brown I got told that I "look ill" - downright rude!) but I was thinking of dying it Cheryl Cole colour before she dyed it red. So I was thinking like warm chocolate brown with honey highlights? Sounds yummy doesn't it ;)

As I have said before I plan on blogging wayy more because in fact I really enjoy it! It's a way of reaching out to people and a way to get more creative with my photos! In general, I just really like blogging!

Barry M. - Nail Paints (Part 2)

As I promised there's another Barry M. Nail Paints post! Here it is. I was majorly convinced that I have so many of those - I only have 7! I have plenty of nail narnish so I might do another post on my favourite colours perhaps? I will have a think about it!

L - R

• 305- Pink Flamingo, this is like a hot pink colour but it's got a hint of coral so it's not JUST plain pink. I absolutely love it, my bottle's half empty - way to show the love! You only need 2 coats to get absolutely opaque!

• 308- Berry Ice Cream, this is lovely soft PURE lilac! No grey undertones or anything. 2 coats is just enough :)

• 303- Bright Purple, I wouldn't call this "Bright Purple" its more like a mulberry colour to me. It looks really purple in the bottle but once you put it on it's like a different colour - i usually apply 3 coats of this

I do looove Barry M nail varnishes, they dry quite quick and aren't streaky. The quality is brill and it isn't reflected in the price as it's only around £3 a bootle!

On the side note, I plan to get a new camera - I can't quite decide what I want. I want a DSLR but there's so many to choose from. I haven't got a lot of money to spend so I was thinking of getting the Nikon D60. It's a bit aged but it'd be JUST RIGHT for a beginner like me! Also I plan on writing a post about "Confidence" but I'm not sure if I'll go ahead with it.

Barry M. - Nail Paints

I promised a post - here it is! I had to change my post title font because for some reason my fancy one just stopped working - little bugger! It took me absolutely ages to change the html coding (i'm a bit technically challenged) but i finally managed it.

Happy New Year everyone ;) I'm aware that i'm a little late - you know what they say? Better late than never!

I decided to write about Barry M Nail Paints - I thought i had a VAST collection, only to turn out i had like 8. Hah. I still decided to split it into two posts because i don't want to be like a nail varnish troll. Stay tuned for the next part and FOTD's - who knows maybe i'll venture out into doing OOTD's (I really dont like using these terms they feel funny to say) but not entirely sure about that yet.

L-R:

•272- Shocking Pink, it's opaque after apply 1 coat! Bright alert with this one!

•313- Dusky Mauve, supposedly a dupe for Chanel's Paradoxal. It's a bit dark, and there aren't as many purple particles as in Paradoxal but I guess it's good enough for a dupe. You have to apply 2/3 coats to get it completely opaque.

•217-This has no name, i think it might've been a L.E edition item. Mmmmm, this reminds me of peacocks - it's kind of blue with green particles. It also contains silver glitter which I'm not too fond of but considering it's not that visable once it's on the nails it's okay :) I usually need to apply 3 coats.

•295- Pure Turquoise, I actually love this - it's so lovely. It's actually what the name says! I normally need 2 coats

It's a bit hit or miss with Barry M nail varnishes - some chip quickly and some stay on for ages but I can't complain because at around £3 the price is competetive and the choice is wide - you can BEYOND every colour of the rainbow.

On the side, I got quite good marks in my prelim exams so I'm a happy bunny! Christmas was better that I initially expected so that's another reason to be happy. Just hoping 2011 won't bring major disappointments for me!
