Under the Sea

Marc Jacobs S/S 2012
The post title is relevant to how i feel... with all the rain we've been having up here, you could say i'm 'under the sea'... ANYWAY, I'm majorly in love with everything that's come out this summer! One of the things I've particularly take a liking to are metallics, this could probably interchange with some sort of a UFO theme, but I find i can relate it more to the sea (cue Chanel shell clutches). Also, all the blues just remind me of the seaside, and i'm just hoping I can go somewhere more exotic than Aberdeen as i haven't got much faith in the weather improving in the next couple of weeks. On another note, I wish I could pull all of this seaside-ness off and not look like I've come from another plant!

The Chanel collection has literally made my jaw DROP - the shell clutches, pearl embellished jackets, textured fabrics, metallics ... the list goes on. Notice how the first time looks a bit like coral? The more I look at this collection, the more I'm convinced that Karl Lagerfeld is actually a genius. I'm never normally the person to admire and swoon over everything, if anything there's normally more things I will hate than like, and I never 'follow' fashion for the sake of it, but this is absolutely marvelous! Everything is just so pretty!

I'm absolutely in love with the lilac Bluemarine dress, it reminds me of mermaids! Katy Perry has recently attended the Billboard Music Awards wearing it, and she looked absolutely fabulous! You can see some pictures here. Again, you can probably tell how in love I am with glitter nail varnishes, these ones here are absolutely fabulous, and the Mermaid one relates well to the theme haha.

Barry M Nail Paint Blue Moon

Barry M Nail Paint in Blue Moon (317) - £2.99 / Boots
Probably my favourite nail varnish at the moment! This is such a beautiful colour, I'm absolutely loving all those pastel blue hues! When i saw this I was instantly in love, but let me tell you something... THIS IS A PAIN TO APPLY. It's very sheer so you need at least 4 coats, it's time consuming and frustrating when you accidentally touch a nail and have to repaint all over again gaaah. There are some weird pearly purple particles in this but are completely unnoticeable on the nails, and they give a nice sheen. In my experience it lasts a good week on false nails and 4 on real nails, definitely living up the good Barry M standards, as all their nail varnishes are absolutely fabulous! They're only £2.99 which is a huge bonus, can't go wrong with that price tag!

On the side note, is anyone watching the Euros? I never thought I would enjoy football this much, but i guess it's in my blood! The atmosphere in the house always gets a little tense as we all support different teams but I LOVE IT. Really rooting for Germany to win so can't wait until their next game on Thursday! Should probably refrain from entering the 'extreme fangirl' mode so I don't get too disappointed (the teams i want to win ALWAYS lose). Is anyone else enjoying the Euros as much as me, or are you all fed up of this football malarkey? (most likely the latter haha)

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Coral Queen

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Coral Queen no. 620 - Boots (£6.29)
Left - applied straight from the bullet // Right - with clear lipgloss
I've had this lipstick for a while and never really gave it much attention as my skin is normally too pale for bright colours like this... it looks almost NEON ORANGE in the packaging and when applied from the bullet it's a little less scary but still very bright. Personally I prefer it with a clear lipgloss over the top to sort of neutralise the brightness of the colour. I absolutely love corals so this will be perfect in the coming summer months!

What I like about the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks is that they don't dry my lips. I find that many lipsticks emphasise the dryness and generally don't look very nice, but the moisturising formula works very well for me. The lipstick has average staying on power, just like any other lipstick, but re-applying doesn't bother me granted the lipstick is a nice colour. I can't stress how good the formula is and I'm hopefully going to get more of these in the near future, and at £6.29 a pop it's not exactly going to break the bank!
